I have been teaching as a Teaching Assistant and, currently, as an Instructor of Record, since 2017. In my experiences, I participated in the construction of the classes, syllabi, and assignments, and had permission to adapt and change the classes as needed.
I design and teach my classes informed by radical pedagogy theories from Paulo Freire and bell hooks. I strive to create a safe environment in which students can have autonomy and confidence in their learning, and can connect the materials of the class to their actual lived experiences, goals, and dreams.
