The first iteration of this piece has been installed at the Richardson Innovation Quarter Headquarters (IQHQ). After user testing, a new, permanent, iteration of the piece will be developed and installed.
The IQHQ houses several research centers and labs from The University of Texas at Dallas engaged in cutting edge work. One of the purposes of the IQHQ is to bridge researchers with the industry and other sectors of innovation. This piece was designed to support IQHQ’s purpose. It features the work of the UT Dallas labs and centers present at IQHQ. A visitor will choose a card and tap it to a box, which contains a Rapberry Pi 4 and a RFID card reader. Each card is associated to a lab or center, and will trigger a video which provides more information about the lab’s work.
